Lawrence Park Pied-à-Terre — Eclectic, evolving interior design in Lawrence Park, Toronto

This Lawrence Park suite was designed twice — each version a complete expression of a different intention.

The first was a warm, layered home — full of vintage furniture, traveled objects, gold-framed art, and the kind of small considered moments that make a space feel collected over time. Custom millwork was built throughout — a glass-front bar wall, a chevron walnut desk, integrated shelving — to give a builder-standard suite the feeling of a much older, more curated home.

The second was a reimagining of the same space with a lighter, more refined hand, done in preparation for sale. White walls and sheer curtains replaced heavier drapery, a paler leather sofa replaced the dark one, and the bedroom and bathroom were transformed with dramatic dark panelled walls and moody navy finishes — drawing contrast against an otherwise brighter envelope.

The bones of the original design remained: the same custom millwork, the same vintage pieces, the same point of view. What changed was everything that surrounded them. The suite sold at the highest price per square foot in the building — a quiet reminder that good design holds its value.
